Shifting Dementia Care From Crisis to Comfort Around The World

Giving Hope, Raising Awareness, & Amplifying Voices

Mission

Alzheimer's Speak's mission has stayed strong and bold since the day it was created in 2009. Our founder, Lori La Bey has always understood the needs of families and communities. She was one of those families struggling with how to care for a loved one. Her mother lived with dementia for 30 years. Our mission was larger than most thought we could achieve. But La Bey loves a challenge and has always believed no matter what we are dealing with in life, that we can and should do better. With that mindset, it was evident to her that Alzheimer's Speak's mission must be strong.

"Shifting Dementia Care From Crisis To Comfort
Around The World, By Giving Voice To All."

La Bey believed then and still does today, that the mission of Alzheimer's Speaks "To shift dementia care from crisis to comfort around the world, by giving voice to all," is the only way to truly understand how care is perceived, received, and delivered. By learning through inclusion, we get the key ingredients to guiding us to build better and to develop new sustainable systems of support.

Vision

Alzheimer's Speak's vision to give voice to all, has been and will continue to be our primary focus. By listening to all voices around the world we get a better understanding of the true needs of those diagnosed as well as those that care for and serve them. We thrive on improving delivery systems and quality of life for those living with a form of dementia and their care partners – families, professionals, as well as the public at large.

Believe We Can Do Better

We love building engaging platforms and resources for dementia care which are inclusive, easy to navigate, and economically friendly. Our services, products, tools, concepts, and information are all built to educate individuals, businesses, and communities throughout the globe. We assist people to live as purposeful and independently as long as possible, no matter what stage of the disease they are dealing with.

Examples Of Our Work

Education Shifts Mindsets

Alzheimer's Speaks educational programs leverage our Emotional Based Training™ program to shift mindsets as to how dementia care is perceived, received, and delivered in our world. This, in turn, activates a new heart set to ignite change in how we care for those with dementia.

We have multiple training programs and tools which are inclusive to educate and support all people living with dementia and care partners active and inactive in our communities. This includes family, friends, co-workers, businesses, and organizations that are memory impaired specifically or not.

Values

Alzheimer’s Speaks believes leading by example is the best way to shift public perception. Dementia is not a disease of one, but that of families. We believe it is essential to value quality of life for all and to teach people how to live graciously alongside Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. This is how we support families, friends, and professionals as they adjust to dealing with the new normal of living alongside dementia.

Alzheimer’s Speaks has built a respected international brand known for listening to the needs of families, advocates, professionals, and researchers. We believe change is not only good but necessary. We love learning about innovation. By doing this we can invoke change and enhance the quality of life for all in the caring circle.

"We love innovation and believe it's the key to invoking change and enhancing the quality of life for all who are part of the caring circle."

Lori La Bey

Alzheimer’s Speaks believes in being a fluid company, one which enhances creativity and values progress. We create a work environment based on innovation, compassion, lifelong learning, and a passion to focus on improving the quality of life for people affected by dementia. We believe in elevating relationships.

We will continue to develop, expand, and refine our platforms to disseminate information responsibly. Constantly investigating and educating people about new and effective efforts available to them; helps break down societal barriers and stigmas. This, in turn, gives hope as we shift dementia care on a global level. We strive to be the number one authentic media host for dementia.

Inclusion Expands Collaboration

Alzheimer’s Speaks loves to align with fascinating people around the world who are doing amazing work shifting the dementia care culture. We are honored to share ideas and mentor individuals and organizations to build collaborative efforts to enhance the lives of those living with dementia. By partnering with organizations we can accelerate positive changes in global dementia care.
