Consulting & Brainstorming

Creating Conscious Commitment

Aligning with Individual & Company Values

Consulting and Brainstorming are right up Lori La Bey’s alley. That is the space she loves and where her creative juices flow.  She thrives on change, but not for change's sake.  For Lori, it’s about clarity, and improving systems, and services, in a simple fashion. If you are an individual or a company looking for clarity before moving forward, Lori would love to talk with you.

For La Bey, it's about getting buy-in from yourself and your team. When you allow your staff to serve while aligning with their own needs as employees and humans everyone wins. This requires having real conversations that are comfortable so you can get to truly know your staff. When organizations talk openly and honestly we can reduce stress triggers and get missions, systems, and budgets aligned.

As The Expert In Your Community And Offer:

Communities and Businesses Changing Lives

Building Dementia Friendly Communities and Businesses (DFC or DFB) is a growing movement and is of critical importance. Did you know every 3 seconds someone in the world is diagnosed with a form of dementia? Yet, we know these numbers are low as many people fear the stigma associated with a diagnosis. We are also seeing more people at younger ages like the '30s, '40s, '50s, and '60s getting diagnosed with various forms of dementia. The actual number of people affected by a diagnosis is substantially larger given the ripple effect through families, circles of friends, coworkers, groups, and our communities at large.

Dementia Isn’t Going Away,
So Build Your Brand and Help Your Community!

Lori launched the first Dementia Friendly Community in the US, with The Lutheran Home Association in Wisconsin in 2013.  She will meet with interested organizations and individuals to discuss how to create DFC and/or DFB. Lori knows how to get others to buy in and step up to work with you.  She knows who to partner with and why. She has a creative mind to match your needs and the communities. This can be done via a formal meeting(s), or more casually via coffee/cocktails or a meal.

DFC and DFB are great ways to elevate your goals and presence within your organization and amplify your leadership role in the greater community regarding dementia care.

Support Gatherings With Social Twists

Memory Cafe is gatherings for people with any form of dementia and their care partners.  It's a community and space where they can feel part of safe, understood and accepted. Lori brought the first Memory Cafe (MC), to the United States from the United Kingdom in 2011. She has worked with many around the country to start their cafes.  There are over 1,000 Memory Café that we know of.

Offering A Place to Grieve and Grow Together

Lori is also a founding creator of the Former Dementia Caregiver Re-Entry program (FDCRP). These are gatherings for Care Partners who have lost their loved one with dementia and are now moving into a new stage of life.

Lori loves meeting with people interested in learning more about both programs. She will explain in detail:

Helping Staff And Families Find Peace And Balance

We designed the Conscious Caring Support™ program (CCSP) to fill a gap in the healthcare industry.  We have heard overwhelmingly from both staff and families how they are struggling in their caring roles.  We decided to offer both individual and group sessions which allows us to customize the program to meet organizations' needs and budgets.  These programs can be done virtually or in person.

The program allows family and staff the opportunity discuss and explore the underbelly of giving care in a safe, supportive, and fun space.  By taking a look at things most people don’t dare talk about, we can identify what is dragging people down, ripping at their souls, and making them feel less than when working so hard to be more than they ever have been. During this process, we can help members find peace, balance, and joy in their caring journey.

Understanding Dynamics Between Professional Roles & Families

The Family By Choice™ series was developed to be impactful, repeatable, and easily implemented. FBC is a six-part staff development series, with bonus sessions for families.

Staff and Family enjoy the fast pace of these events which bring both sides closer to work as a team leveraging common knowledge and tools to care. They will walk away with simple techniques to improve quality of life issues not only for their patients, residents, or clients but themselves.

This series was designed to be cost-effective and respectful of your budget. Each of the twelve sessions can be tailored to meet your needs from 30 to 60 minutes in length. We can offer back-to-back presentations to target shift changes assuring information is disseminated to all staff; decreasing miscommunications and increasing results.

In addition, we present the same concepts to family members the same day to ensure we reach a full circle with the delivery of developmental techniques and attitudes.

*Portions of this program can be tailored as Keynotes or breakout sessions.
