  1. It’s always so interesting to get a glimpse into these challenging situations. As we know, driving is one to the passionate conversations that occur when talking about someone with dementia. At a recent AARP event, I discovered an after-market collision avoidance product. The device, which installed runs about $1,200, can be installed on practically any modern car. While there is no 100% solution for any of the challenges associated with dementia, this device should be able to add a level of safety and create some peace-of-mind for the caregiver. I’m currently researching and writing an article about the product. But what seems possible is that the decision making and response time of a person with dementia may not affect their driving.
