Excellent Lori!
You truly depicted the Care Giver’s plight; mine anyway.
You didn’t even need to speak any words. I could see the pain on your face, but also the joy.
I can totally relate… you are right.
Thank you for paving the way for me, we’re just starting our journey down this crazy road. You help to give me insights and encouragement on days that I need it most.
Big angel hugs…
Sue
HI Sue
Thanks for your comments. Your right we don’t always have to talk to communicate if we slow down and pay attention to the signals others are giving us.
Your messages to me help guide me to know what you find useful. Thanks again for being part of our community here!
Take care
Lori
Lori,
Thank you so much for sharing your story, your mom, and your inspiring approach to caregiving! It’s a blessing to see the love you have for her, and how you express it to her whenever the two of you are together.
And a big shout-out to Channel 9, don’t you think, for its willingness to publicize some of the ways we Minnesotans are dealing with dementia and caring for its victims.
I’m going to post this on my blog–and send it to everyone I can think of who can benefit from watching a marvelous caregiver in action.
Laurry
Thanks Laurry,
Fox did a great job! It’s nice to see positive stories relating to Alzheimer’s disease. I still have to do a blog post on Lakeview Ranch. Judy Berry is amazing out there. Thank you for introducing me to Judy.
If anyone is having trouble with dementia and behavior problems you have to contact Lakeview Ranch. Here is the link:

Thanks for sharing my story with your community.
Lori
Dear Lori,
We’ve not met but I feel as though I know you through my husband’s admiration and now the FOX 9 story. You serve as such a role model for our generation. I am most grateful for the Lori La Bey’s, Laura Bramley’s and Judy Berry’s of this world. I never thought I would find pure joy in a memory care community but Lakeview Ranch is one of ouir favorite “date night” spots. I think this compassionate little “army” will keep hope alive until the cure is found.
Kindest regards,
Kathy Harmon
Hi Kathy,
Thanks for your kind words. You brought tears to my eyes when you mentioned you and Laurry going to Lakeview Ranch for a date night! How sweet you two are to give of yourselves, although I do understand what you get in return by going there. It is a magically home environment for those with Alzheimer’s and anyone who visits. I know Judy’s concept of care sure made a huge impact on me too. Now I guess I need to find a date! LOL
We really do need to set up a time to meet one of these days! I’ve have been told by so many people to connect with you. Tell Laurry “Hi” from me.
