Need you help Contact your Legislator
Go to this site at the Alzheimer’s Association and let your voice be heard. Congress needs to hear from you today. It just takes a few minutes and they have a letter all prepared for you to send. Plus it costs you nothing but time!!!
Thanks for your help in making the world a better place for those who are ill.Â

Hi. I just found your blog, and was touched particularly about your Mother’s Day story with the M&Ms. My father passed away on New Year’s Day, 2010, and I’m dreading upcoming Father’s Day, which will be my first since he passed away. Like you, I’m finding writing a blog very therapeutic.
I’m in Canada, and we found the Canadian version of the Alzheimer Society very helpful as well. Good luck with your campaign to contact Congress!
HI Gilda,
Thanks so much for writing. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your Father. I lost my Dad in 2001 and one. Father’s still tugs at my heart but I can tell you things have gotten easier. I now have come to accept my Father’s passing and know now that his is still with me in all I do know matter where I am. I carry him in my heart and find little signs which tell me he is near just when I need them. My prayers and thoughts will be with you and your family during this difficult transition.
If you care to email me or respond to this comment with the Canadian Alzheimer’s society I will add them to my resource website so others can access as well.
Thanks again for writing.
Hi Lori,
I just wanted to pop over and say hi. Hope all is well with you and just wanted you to know that I am always thinking of you and your mother (even if I don’t talk to you everyday) 🙂
Take care of yourself and hoping that your mother is still comfortable and doing reasonably well.
HI Michelle
Thank you so much for checking in. That is so nice of you! I too think of you often and wonder how you are doing.
Mom is doing ok but slipping more and more each day. I just try to stay focused on the little moments when she comes to life. Yesterday out of the blue she danced with her hands and another time she said “Cheese” for me as I was playing with my flip video and then she giggled. I will try to post it later today. It’s not the best video but it still shows how she is.
Thanks again for checking in. In means so much to me.
Take care. If you ever come to Minnesota you must let me know. I would so love to meet you!
Lori
