His guest will be Lori La Bey the founder of Alzheimer’s Speaks, and host of our radio show, as well as a daughter who supported her Mother on her 30 year journey with dementia.  Together the two of them have worked together for over a decade on various projects. This should be an interesting conversation with two passionate people activists. Watch or listen to the interview.  It promises to be very interesting!

During our interview Michael spoke of a great woman who was the pioneer in the dementia world. Michael said, “Her name was Jenny Knauss and should never be forgotten. It is because of her that we are where we are today. I only regret I never got to meet her. She is the one that got my friend Richard Taylor started. I could just imagine what those two are changing in the sky. Is now up to all of us to continue their legacy.” Below is an article that details Jenny’s impact on our dementia care culture.

A BIG THANK YOU to Dr. Lakelyn Hogan Eichenberger with Home Instead who invited me on her live video chat to discuss early diagnosis and why it’s so important. So many people worry about changes in cognition from individuals who are sensing a change in their own lives, to family and friends. This chat will give you some ideas of common changes people question, what could be causing the changes, who to go see if you are concerned, to how to approach the conversation with a loved one, and even how to respond to someone who is telling you they are worried about cognitive changes.
