Just Launched Today – Dementia Friendly Businesses & Communities

Proud To Announce

Dementia Friendly Businesses & Communities

Lori La Bey Founder of Alzheimer’s Speaks

Once again my friend Norrms McNamara and the UK have inspired me to tackle another hot topic that needs to be addressed here in the US.  In honor of World Alzheimer’s Day, which is tomorrow, September 21st, I am proud to announce the launching of “Dementia Friendly Businesses and Communities.”    Not only does this program educate businesses and communities about dementia, but it is a powerful tool to assist employees, clients, prospects and the public at large regarding dementia, stigmas, strategies to engage and gives hope to those living with memory loss.

Today I awarded the first Dementia Change Maker Awards, which creates individual  Dementia Stars.  Dementia Stars are people who attended the program.  Each participant is now an educated advocate who can help shift our dementia care culture one person at a time.  The program is fun, interactive and non-threatening using real life examples and situations to shift hearts, to change mindsets. The program breaks down big issues and gives practical solutions to become dementia friendly.

The response from attendees was wonderful, with several people asking to forward the program on to other companies and organizations.  I thank everyone who attended today!  Each of you are stars in my eyes.  I know together we can shift our dementia care culture to one which thrives on engagement and purpose filled lives for all.

If you are interested in more information about how you too can become a Dementia Friendly Business, Communities or individual, please contact me to discuss.   You can reach me through my website www.AlzheimersSpeaks.com
