Music and Alzheimer’s Moments – Frosty the Snowman

This is my Mother, in her end stages of Alzheimer’s disease interacting with a friend of mine Janelle Johnson who was so kind and offered to sing to her.   Normally Mom is in her own little world these days, but she can be brought out and she just exudes joy.  Music is one of those little things we can give a person with dementia and it doesn’t have to cost anything.   Just remember it needs to be “their music,” which might not be yours.  What a moment to remember!

Please pay attention to the eye contact, hand movement, facial expressions, and ability to remember the beat even if unable to remember the words.

Thank you Janelle for bringing my Mother such great joy, you are an angel!
