Understanding Options & Final Wishes

Before You Need Them Is Critical!

Lori La Bey will be talking with Kim Callinan the President and CEO of Compassion & Choices and Matt Whitaker is National Director of Integrated Programs. Today we will learn about options and choices available when people are discussing their wishes when it comes to end of life.

Kim leads the organization’s strategy to empower people to take charge of the final chapter of their lives, help people plan for a possible dementia diagnosis, and advocate for closing disparities in end of life care.

Kim has led efforts around authorizing and implementing medical aid in dying in several states and jurisdictions, frequently testifies before state legislatures, and serves as a national thought leader on end-of-life care options.

Matt works to support medical education, end of life planning and client services nationwide. He has helped lead state-level campaigns to increase access to end of life choice, and has spoken at numerous conferences on bioethics and person-centered care across the country. He’s also testified as an expert resource on end of life choice to numerous state agencies and legislative committees.
