Hi Lori…how are you doing? Just wanted to take a moment to see how things are going with your mom. I am hoping she is comfortable and that you are doing well too 🙂
I am fine. We are about to celebrate our 2nd anniversary on the 4th of October and I am very excited about that.
Missing my mother sooooo much. What I wouldn’t give to be able to call her up on the phone and just talk about nothing.
You take care of yourself Lori. Keep in touch 🙂
Love,
Sheri
p.s. MY SON FINALLY GOT A JOB…
Hi Michelle
So nice to hear from you! Congrats on your forth coming anniversary.. Exciting! Do you guys have any special plans?
As for me, Mom is slipping. The past six weeks she has been pretty withdrawn but on Sunday she connected with me for about 15 minutes. I was so heartwarming! It renewed my faith to not give up on her and fall into that pattern of saying good bye to soon. Even as an expert in the area, I still struggle with the personal emotions with the disease and the ups and downs you know oh so well.
I went up to the lake yesterday to work on writing projects and visited a wonderful old friend who was like a Grandpa to me. As soon as I saw him yesterday I knew he wouldn’t be with us much longer. I was so fortunate to get to spend 3 precious hours with him and tell him how much I love him and what a wonderful man he was. He passed this am. It is bitter sweet that he is gone, but at 96 he deserved to stop fighting and pass onto the next journey.
Thanks so much for staying in touch. I so appreciate the friendship we have developed through Alzheimer’s Speaks! Enjoy your anniversary girl!
Love ya

Hi Lori
So good to hear from you.
We have plans for dinner and dancing on Saturday and Sunday..gonna celebrate all weekend.
I love the experience you had with your friend up at the lake. I’m sure you are happy that you took the time to connect with him and I am sure he appreciated how you felt about him. So sweet 🙂
I know how you must feel seeing your mother failing. But you had that connection and that is so wonderful. I’m hoping you are also taking time out for YOU because that is so important.
Take care my friend and I will “talk” with you soon.
Love,
Sheri
Hi Michelle
Glad to hear you are going to celebrate!
My time with my friend Alan was so special. I was very lucky to get three precious hours with him before he passed. I loved he so.
Mom has been very disconnected or so appears, yet when I saw her on Sunday she was all smiles and connected with me for 15 minutes! I was so happy for this intereaction. I think she probably knew about Alan was was pumping me up to help him pass when I saw him.
Love ya
Take care and celebrate your marriage!
Lori
You made some good points there. I did a search on the topic and found most people will agree with
