This is a follow-up from the post “Feeling Lost Without My Mother.”

If you have not read it yet, you may want to read it. The feedback I’ve gotten has been very positive.

I will never forget the first two nights after Mom passed away. Each night I tried to go to sleep. Each night I could not, as I heard the song “Happy,” by Pharrell Williams. The music was so loud it felt like the band was set up in my bedroom.

On the third night I decided to have a talk with my Mother. I told to her before I went to bed, “Ok so you’re HAPPY Mom, I get it! But I needed to get some sleep. You have to tone it down up there and party somewhere else.”

That night I slept soundly with the exception of two or three times. At these moments it seemed a door opened and when it did, I could hear the “Happy” song again. But this time, softer and each time the line was the same. I heard it so clearly…

What Happiness Is To You.”

I believe this was my Mother’s message to me and to the world.

What Makes You Happy?

I know for me I am trying very hard to figure this out.

Not on a surface level, but a much deeper soul level.

What do I want and need to make my soul joyful?

What does that look like?

What does that feel like?

How does it make others feel?

What type of people surround me and venture this path of joy with me?
