The host of Alzheimer’s Speaks Radio, Lori La Bey, will be talking with the Chief Medical Officer at Cortexyme, Dr. Michael Detke. Cortexyme is a bio tech company that is developing therapies targeting bacteria P. gingivalis, commonly associated with gum disease, that can infect the brain and cause Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Detke is a board-certified psychiatrist and has been involved in clinical drug research and development for more than 20 years, having trained in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.
You or a loved one may be eligible for the study if you:
- Are 55 to 80 years old
- Have been diagnosed with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease
- Have a caregiver or family member who will attend study visits, report on daily activities and oversee medication use
